Published by Oslo Business Region, 01 March 2026

For many years, you have partnered with us to strengthen Oslo’s startup ecosystem and build the city’s international position. Your engagement, collaboration, and trust have been essential to that journey—and we are grateful to everyone who has been part of it.

Today, we’re sharing an important update.

Oslo Business Region is now Oslo&Co.

This change reflects more than a new name. It marks a broader role and a clearer ambition for how we contribute to Oslo’s future.

A broader mandate for a more competitive city

We have been given an expanded mandate from the City of Oslo to help drive economic growth, increase value creation, and strengthen Oslo’s international position.

Competition for investment, talent, and visitors is intensifying globally. To succeed, Oslo must be clearer in its positioning, more coordinated in its efforts, and more ambitious in how it presents itself to the world. Oslo&Co is designed to play a central role in that work.

Building on a strong ecosystem

Since 2014, Oslo’s startup ecosystem has matured significantly. Today, the city is home to 50–60 professional hubs and support players, spanning industries from technology and life sciences to creative industries and clean energy.

As the ecosystem has grown, so have the opportunities and the challenges. They increasingly cut across sectors, disciplines, and audiences. Our role must evolve to meet that reality.

What Oslo&Co will do:

In practice, Oslo&Co will:

- Help international investors and businesses identify opportunities in Oslo

- Strengthen welcome services for visitors and international talent

- Share insights into Oslo’s industries, capabilities, and competitive advantages

- Tell Oslo’s story through a clearer narrative and closer collaboration across the city

Our focus is on connecting the dots—between public and private actors, between sectors, and between Oslo and the international market.

What this means for you

You’ll start to see changes across our platforms and channels, including:

 - A new website (as you can see)

- Updated social media channels

- A newsletter that expands from a startup-focused lens to broader B2B news and opportunities from across Oslo’s business landscape

While our scope is broader, our foundation remains strong, and our commitment to collaboration is unchanged.

Looking ahead

We build on years of experience, partnerships, and shared achievements. And we look forward to shaping what comes next together with you.
